Ariana Grande’s Workout Routine
In a 2017 interview with Coveteur, Ariana Grande opened up about how she maintains a healthy and active lifestyle even when she’s on tour.
Step by step
One of her secret weapons is the 12,000-steps-per-day rule that her personal trainer, Harley Pasternak, is obsessed with.
Ariana said: “For the longest time, I was like, ‘How is that more effective than doing a full-fledged workout?’ It really is. I feel better when I’m moving around a lot.”
She then added: “I have a lot of ideas on the treadmill. If I need help writing or being creative, or coming up with an idea, [I’ll work out].”
On top of that, according to the Mayo Clinic, walking can reduce the risk of heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and even depression.
Strength training
Moreover, in an interview with Shape, Ariana’s trainer, Harley Pasternak, revealed that they work together three times a week for 30- to 45-minute sessions.
Harley also shared the ‘Fantastic Five’ workout for a strong lower body that Ariana practices regularly:

You can check out Harley’s video demonstrations of these exercises in the Shape article.
As for the upper body, Harley told Shape in a different interview that Ariana’s workout includes: glute bridge skull crushers, standing rope triceps extensions, dumbbell T-raises, and standing cable reverse flys.
Ariana speaks out on body-shaming
Of course, since Ariana is a public figure, there’s been a lot of talk and criticism about her physical appearance.
That’s why the singer decided to share her honest opinion on the matter on TikTok and empower others to look their healthiest.
Ariana Grande’s Diet and Meal Plan
On becoming a vegan
Way back in 2013, Ariana announced on Facebook that she’d become a vegan:
“I’ve eaten organically since I was little and always kept meat minimal but yesterday marked my first day as a 100% Vegan!!!! Joyous day ❤”
In 2014, the singer explained to the Mirror newspaper the reason behind her decision:
I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding. But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole-food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person. It is tricky dining out, but I just stick to what I know — veggies, fruit, and salad — then when I get home I’ll have something else.
According to researchers, a plant-based diet may lower blood pressure, body mass index, and cholesterol levels.
Ariana’s favorite vegan meals
In his 2022 interview with Shape, mentioned earlier, Ariana Grande’s personal trainer, Harley Pasternak, touched upon the singer’s diet.
Harley said: “Ariana loves soups, smoothies, and salads, which are all great foods for anyone who is short on time.”
According to him, Ariana gets many of the recipes from his cookbook The Body Reset Diet. The book contains 150 healthy meal recipes you can try.
Ariana Grande’s Hair Routine
The secret behind the famous ponytail
Ariana Grande became best known for her long ponytail hairstyle. But do you know why?
In a heartfelt Facebook post back in 2014, the singer revealed her secret:
“I wear extensions but I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely [wretched] and absurd when I let it down.”
Years later, the singer still uses a lot of extensions to create her signature ponytail look but takes better care of her natural hair when she’s at home.
Hair care tricks
In an interview with Allure, Ariana revealed she uses coconut oil to nourish her hair and added that: “Coconut oil just goes with everything.”
The singer also shared her love for lavender essential oil, saying: “I love putting lavender on my head.”
Ariana’s favorite ponytail
As for the type of ponytail she prefers, Ariana told Allure in a different interview:
“I think the best version of my ponytail is the lower, shorter one, like the one that I wore often on The Voice. I really am fond of that ponytail. And then also Galinda’s hair.”
Ariana Grande’s Skincare and Makeup Routine
We found out everything about Ariana Grande’s skincare routine and ’60s cat-eye signature look from a video tutorial she created for Vogue.
Skincare
- Ariana admits she suffers from acne outbursts, which is why she starts by applying an oxygenating serum to cleanse her skin.
- Then, she uses a mix of La Mer moisturizer and EltaMD SPF for moisturizing and protecting her skin.
- Next is the R.E.M. Beauty Undereye Balm that fills up her fine lines and some eye patches that create a smooth base for applying makeup.
Makeup
- Ariana starts her makeup routine with a pump and a half of foundation.
- A concealer comes next
- The singer then fills her eyebrows using an Eyebrow Styler until she achieves the ‘Audrey Hepburn-ish’ straight and lifted eyebrow shape she likes.
- Ariana continues by contouring her face using her makeup artist’s Balm Contour; then adds the R.E.M. Beauty Interstellar Highlighter Topper.
- Next, she shifts her focus towards the eyes and applies a pink shade from her eyeshadow kit on her eyelids.
- To recreate the ’60s cat-eye look she’s best known for, she uses the R.E.M. Beauty Multi-Use Eye Stick.
- The singer then applies a Dior Rosy Glow Blush all over her face, including her eyelids and eyebrows.
- Instead of the classic liquid cat-eye line, Ariana often goes for the shadowy version using the same Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Palette.
- To make the cat-eye line stand out she uses the Charlotte Tilbury Rock ‘N’ Kohl Bedroom Black Eyeliner.
- After that, she applies a hydrating lip gloss, on top of which she adds the R.E.M. Beauty On Your Collar Plumping Lip Gloss. You should know that lip gloss is the most used item in Ariana’s makeup bag, according to an interview with British Vogue.
- The finishing touch is the lip treatment.
